The name of the church "Aliturgetos" means non-sanctified. A big earthquake partly destroyed the building in 1913, anyway the church is a priceless monument of Bulgarian culture.
Great variety of architectural and decorative elements are interweaved in a remarkable way - arches, niches, consoles, and plastic ceramic and stone decoration. The floor was covered by mosaic, representing geometric figures of red and green marble the altar had marble frames decorated by sculptural interlaced vine leaves.
