Natioanal Museum of Natural Science in Sofia
The National Museum of Natural Science at BAS is the richest natural science museum on the Balkan Peninsula. It houses and popularises the animate and inanimate nature in Bulgaria and abroad – over one million specimens of animals, plants and minerals. The exhibitions of the National Museum of Natural Science include more than 400 species of mammals, over 1200 species of birds, a multitude of amphibians and reptiles, hundreds of thousands insects and other invertebrates, as well as fossil specimens (bones, bone fragments and whole skeletons). Also here many mineral species and about 1200 specimens of herbarium species of the Bulgarian flora are exhibited.
The National Museum of Natural Science is located on 1 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.
