The Church Museum at the Holy Synod

The museum represents the Bulgarian Orthodox spiritual culture and art. It exhibits a number of manuscripts and incunabular books, valuable icons and prints, church plates, church antiques and monuments of the Christian art. The museum exhibition also includes models of famous ancient churches, photograph albums of all significant and prominent church records, manuscripts by Neophit Hilendarski (Bozveli), letters and documents of Ilarion Makariopolski, of the exarches Antim I and Yossif I, of bishop Kliment Tarnovski and many others.

The museum is housed in the building of the Faculty of Theology on “Sveta Nedelya” Square
(working hours 9:00 - 17:00 with lunch break, closed on Saturday and Sunday)
