Katinski Piramidi (the Pyramids of Katina) are rock formations in the southern foots of Western Stara Planina, around the village of Katina. They represent different in size and colour pyramids, most of which are high and tapered. Many of the figures have stone caps which protect them from the direct impact of the rains. The base of the pyramids is in yellow and brown hues, and their peaks have wine-red colour, which they got from red sandstones. Katinski Piramidi reveal a fantastic view towards the Sofia valley and the surrounding mountains.
